Gangsta - Waka Kayaks
The Gangsta has stood the test of time. It has proven again and again that it’s the fastest race boat out there, dominating Extreme Kayak World Championships since 2016. This boat has been made to go fast and trades some of its maneuverability and ease to boof, for speed making it less forgiving compared to its brothers and sisters in the Waka line up. If you manage to keep the bow dry, the boat online and skipping on a race run you’re bound to put down a time that will be tough to beat.
It’s always a balance between hitting your lines and raw speed so it can be bit difficult deciding between the Gangsta and other boats in the Waka line up such as the Stoke or Steeze, that capitalize on the consistency of not making mistakes. As the water gets bigger, and moves become trickier in a race course, there may be a real advantage to choosing another boat in our line up such as the Stoke so that hitting the lines perfectly is easier.
The Gangsta is a more conventional design than others in the Waka range, and may suit paddlers that prefer a style with less rocker and a rounder hull. The Gangsta measures in at 274 cm long, giving it heaps of speed in flatwater. It is 68 cm wide, so suits a wide variety of paddler weights (60kg-100kg), although the lighter you are the easier this boat will paddle.
